PM Modi announces ‘6 guarantees for Bengal’: Vows no bribes, crackdown on corruption & infiltrators | Watch

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday sharpened his political pitch in West Bengal by highlighting a set of key governance assurances, including making the government system accountable to the common people, reopening all files related to corruption and crimes against women, ensuring that corrupt individuals—whether ministers or leaders—are jailed under the law, enforcing a strict no-bribe regime, and taking firm action to prevent infiltrators from staying in India.

Addressing a rally in Haldia, Modi positioned these guarantees as part of a broader promise to overhaul governance in the state. He alleged that the current system lacks accountability and transparency, and asserted that a change in government would ensure that institutions work directly for the people without political interference or corruption.

The Prime Minister also targeted the ruling Trinamool Congress over issues such as employment, industry decline and alleged corruption. He claimed that industries had declined in several regions, forcing people to migrate for work, and accused the state government of fostering an environment of fear rather than trust. He further promised timely examinations and jobs without “cut money” or nepotism, along with employment generation initiatives.

Raising concerns over women’s safety, Modi alleged that crimes against women remain a serious issue in the state and contrasted it with BJP-ruled regions. He also accused the state government of blocking central welfare schemes and renaming them instead of delivering benefits to people, adding that a “double-engine government” would accelerate development and governance.

He further emphasised sectors like fisheries and infrastructure, stating that despite having strong potential, the state lags behind others in production and growth. The Prime Minister concluded by urging voters to support change, claiming that his government would function strictly according to the Constitution and ensure equal rights and opportunities for all.
